Winter Break

Hey guys! We just got back from Winter Break yesterday. Winter Break was really fun, starting with the Friday we got out. I went shopping for Valentine’s Day to help my dad pick out my mom’s present. Then we went out to eat. On Valentine’s Day, I baked cookies. (more like burned cookies..note to self: baking isn’t your thing). Then, I hung out with my boyfriend. We went to eat at a Mexican restaurant (our favorite), and then we went bowling. We stopped by a local gas station and got some really good ice cream (even tho it was like twenty degrees outside lol). The day after, I went to church and baby sat my niece, Ashlynn (she’s three months old, and the cutest little thing). The next day I watched my favorite show, Switched at Birth on Netflix, and went to tumbling. On Tuesday I had my boyfriend over and then we went to Atlanta to watch my sister play basketball. On Wednesday, (the last day of break) I went to cheer. My Winter Break was really fun!

Future Fridays

Hey everyone! I hope you’re having a great day !

This past Friday, we had a nursing home director come and speak to us for Future Friday. It was actually really interesting! She had great stories. Although it seems great for others, I don’t think this is a career that would suit me. Healthcare just isn’t the field I want to go down. If that’s your passion and what you want to do, I say go for it! It seems like a great profession to have, just not for me. It was very interesting though, and I appreciate it a ton!

Cheerleading

Hey guys! So today I wanted to talk about a big part of my life, cheerleading. I have been a competitive cheerleader three, going on my fourth year. This past year I also did football and basketball cheerleading. I got elected as captain, and it made the experience even better! Although I loved football basketball cheer, my heart is in competitive cheer. In middle school , you’re allowed to do competitive and football/basketball cheer, but when you get to high school they make you choose! I chose competitive because its my passion and what I love doing. (I want to be involved in competitive cheer for the rest of my life. I want to be a college cheerleader and open up my own all-star cheer gym when I grow up!)  Workouts have already started for high school cheer (in fact, I’m going to them today) , and tryouts are the 25th of this month. I am really nervous, so keep me in your prayers that I make it!

Future Fridays in Mrs. McBrayer’s

Every Friday we have a speaker come in and tell us about their career. It’s very interesting. Last Friday, one of my classmates had his Dad, an EMT, come in. I learned a lot but I don’t think it’s a job I would like. I just don’t do good in situations where you have to act and think fast, and someone’s life depends on what you do on those few minutes or seconds. I don’t think I could handle it, but I think it’s amazing that EMTs can.

My Career Cluster

Hey guys! Today in career management we learned our career cluster and pathways. I chose to be in the business management and administration. I’m in the pathway of being an entrepreneur because I want to open up an all-star cheerleading gym when I get older. Hope you all have a great day!
